I'm Paul Hannon, a DJ, radio producer, podcast editor, and general audio nerd from Ireland and now living in Auckland, New Zealand.
I built AudioToolz because I got sick of bloated websites, endless paywalls, fake "AI-powered" nonsense, and audio tools that seem to have been designed by people who've never actually worked with audio.
So I made the kind of tools I'd actually want to use myself.
Fast, browser-based audio tools that just work.
No software installs. No weird subscriptions. No uploading your life story just to trim an MP3.
Where possible, the tools run directly in your browser, which also means your files often never leave your computer.
I've spent years working in radio, podcast production, audio editing, and DJing, so this site comes from real-world use and frustration, not from chasing SEO keywords or pumping out generic content.
AudioToolz is built for DJs, podcasters, radio producers, music nerds, content creators, and anyone else who just wants to get audio stuff done without fighting terrible software.
More tools and guides will be added over time.
Every tool on AudioToolz runs entirely within your browser — nothing is ever transmitted to any server. Your files stay on your device at all times.
BPM, Key & Energy Finder — Detects the tempo, musical key, Camelot Wheel position and energy score (1-10) of any track using Essentia.js, an industry-grade audio analysis library. The energy score measures club impact using kick pulse detection, low-frequency analysis and dynamic range.
Audio Converter — Converts any audio file (WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AAC and more) to a high-quality 192kbps CBR MP3 using FFmpeg.wasm — the browser-based port of the professional FFmpeg engine.
Video to MP3 — Extracts the audio track from any video file (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WEBM and more) and exports it as a 192kbps CBR MP3. Perfect for recorded live sets, rehearsals, and video footage you only need the audio from.
Audio Trimmer — A full in-browser audio editor with waveform display. Select regions to keep or remove, undo and redo edits, preview your result, and download when you're happy. Powered by WaveSurfer.js and FFmpeg.wasm.
DJ Mixer — A browser-based two-deck DJ mixer built for fun, home use, and house parties. Load two tracks, mix with a crossfader, control EQ, nudge tempo, and set hot cues — all without installing any software. Supports basic USB MIDI controllers in Chrome and Edge.
